Special New Year’s Message from Zoozil’s Founder, Joe Heinzen

New Year Celebration & Appreciation_Zoozil MediaEMBARKING ON A NEW YEAR

Every new year one finds themselves reflective. And as a company with such high-arching goals of solving the literacy crisis, Zoozil is no different. This past year, we made investments in our team, our innovative books, technology, and most importantly, our “Zoozilist” book lovers.

How do you know if you’re a Zoozilist? Zoozilists are lifelong readers, even if they don’t know it yet. They believe in the power of education to change the story — for themselves and the world around them.

As an extension of your home and classroom, our mission is to create a new generation of readers. This is an honor and responsibility we take very seriously!

The Zoozil team is a talented group of people assembled with the sole agenda to help a new generation grow into voracious readers, critical thinkers, and lovers of learning, each empowered to change the world with the understanding that their decisions matter — much like the way they “change the story” through the decisions they make in our books.

To that end, we proudly announce a new library of adventures to be released in 2017. In addition, the new library will feature advancements in our reader technology so that parents and teachers can have candid and meaningful conversations with children and students. Can you imagine receiving a report the night after a child read a book about the first moon landing and being able to ask them why learning about mission control was more interesting than venturing alongside the astronauts as they went through their training? The possibilities, continued conversation, and sparks we empower children to have are endless.

This past year, we formed new partnerships with Lexile, Habitat for Humanity, Clever, and Junior Achievement to solidify our sense of community and create an ease of use for the people we service: kids, educators and parents.

Our public appearances this past year in The Huffington Post (link), Richmond GRID Magazine (link), CBS Morning Show (link), and Richmond Times-Dispatch Business section (link) supported our efforts to raise two additional rounds of funding from investors. All of which raised awareness and promotion of Zoozil and supported increased reading in households and schools around the world.

Without you however, none of this means anything. So we ask you a very important question as we embark on the new year: Are you ready to be a Zoozilist? Are you ready to help us empower and build a new generation, brick by brick, book by book, and one fascinating Zoozil story at a time? We’re filling the most important shelves of all in 2017 and beyond — the shelves of the minds of your amazing children and students.

I would like to personally thank you for the honor to provide our one-of-a-kind adventures through time on the pages of the new calendar year. Cheers to a wonderful and healthy year ahead for all Zoozilists. The adventure we’re collectively creating and directing is just beginning!
